Finaly here is the miniature abstract film featuring the beautiful clarinet performance by Natalia Benedetti of the piece Voz de Ébano by the great venezuelan composer Diógenes Rivas.
For me every frame is a plastic composition of it´s own, every view and figuration was made with this aesthetic intention, as part of the unraveling of the story of the visual form.
Soon to be published these are frames of the new kinetik animation made in collaboration with venezuelan composer Diogenes Rivas and his miniature piece for clarinet called ¨Voz de Ebano¨. On this ocasion a more graphic-abstract design was used, forms and colors more in tune with the musical instrument and it´s fresh and clear sounds and performance. It reminds me of the early style of UPA for it´s affinity with jazz music and the clarinet tunes of the 40´s to 50´s era.

A series of compositions depicting different dynamic states of structural forms in the search for a new spatial and architectural language. Aleatoric movement in infinite space creates interesting and surprising relationships between forms.
On this ocassion String universe series turns to a more passionate and romantic corner of the abstract world of art with the magnificent cello piece : Largo for Cello Solo, 1 min. by composer Diógenes Rivas. Malabares is the short encounter with a misterious ballerina that perhaps does not notice our watching presense, and displays her enchanting grace inside a intimate world of color and form. Another chapter of the wonderful world of String Universe. This time in String Universe III the piece is ¨Civitas Dei¨, a visual kinetik interpretation of Diógenes Rivas third 1 min piano piece: Estro Armónico, with a fantastic interpretation by pianist Manuel Laufer.

String Universe III : Civitas DeiEs fascinante lo que puede contener 1 minuto de música: un universo contenido en un instante, sobre todo en las miniaturas musicales de Diogenes Rivas, aquí en la pieza de piano Estro Armónico, magníficamente interpretada por Manuel Laufer. La pieza sugería un ámbito de carácter geométrico-urbano, espacios interiores como los de una catedral que sirvieron de inspiración para la composición visual. El nombre Civitas Dei, que significa Ciudad de Dios, hace referencia a una obra de San Agustín que inspiró la creación de las catedrales góticas , imaginadas como la Ciudad de Dios, en sus penumbras geométricas penetradas por la luz divina de los vitrales. Espero la disfruten tanto como yo al crearla.

A 3d structural piece for the Florida Work Center proposal. Depicting the flight of the Monarchs, part of a conceptual series for kinetic sculptures exploring tetrahedral spaces.
Inspired by the miraculous migration of the Monarch butterflies, thousands of miles from North America to Mexico. This natural event is for me a beautiful metaphor of life and a reminder that for nature there is no such thing as national boundaries.
Monarchs is the second work of the series String Universe, a wonderful collaboration with my good friend the composer Diógenes Rivas, and various musical performers. The coming together of Visual Art, Music Composition and Performance, in small miniatures similar to Japanese Haiku.
